Maasai Mara Photo Safari

Join us for a photographic safari built on over 15 years of experience and 300+ days in the bush. From the iconic big cats of Mara North to the elephants, giraffes, and zebra, we focus on quality encounters and proactive positioning for your photos, not ours. Unlike generic photo safaris, this is a true photographers safari — including six hours of dedicated in-camp presentations, alongside constant guidance in the field from two professional wildlife photographers. Regardless of your current experience level our goal is the same. For you to return home with more than just a portfolio of new images; you'll leave with the skills and knowledge to keep creating them.

The Small Group Advantage

With a maximum of only 6 guests and two vehicles, you are guaranteed an entire row to yourself. You will also rotate in the vehicle to ensure you can take advantage of the unique benefits of each seating position. This provides ample space and flexibility to manoeuvre, even with the largest telephoto lenses, ensuring you never miss a shot.

10 Days of Mentorship

By spending 10 days in camp with two professional photographers, you will benefit from unrivalled assistance on every one of your 20 game drives. This extended duration offers an unparalleled opportunity for immersive learning and constant hands-on tuition.

The Mara North Experience

Mara North Conservancy offers a significantly more intimate experience than the main reserve. By strictly limiting sightings to just six vehicles, the animals remain relaxed, allowing us to position ourselves perfectly for the best views. Crucially, we have the freedom to drive off-road, enabling us to follow the action and find the exact angles required for the best images.

Light is Primary

Without the strict curfews found in the main reserve, we can be out before dawn and stay out well after sunset. This allows us to maximise the light and capture the big cats when they are most active. By prioritising the best light, we avoid the harsh, high-contrast conditions of midday, focusing instead on the atmosphere and drama that define great wildlife photography.

In-camp Workshops

Learning doesn't stop when we head back to camp. During the quieter midday hours, and alongside 1-2-1 assistance, we hold six hours of dedicated presentations designed to improve your technical skills, refine your workflow, and spark new creative ideas. Our aim is for you to return home with both a stunning portfolio and a fresh sense of inspiration.

Seamless Travel & Increased luggage

To maximise our time in the field, we utilise a private chartered flight. This not only eliminates the hot, long, waits at the airstrip but provides a generous 30kg weight limit, ensuring you can bring all the gear you need. On your final day, our custom flight schedule allows for one last morning game drive before we depart.

Your Full Itinerary

Day 1: We are picked up from Nairobi Airport on arrival by our drivers and on to our hotel. After a long day of travel, we’ll get some rest before a full introduction the following morning.

Day 2: An early breakfast and briefing for the day ahead, before a 15 minute transfer to Wilson Airport to catch our chartered flight out to camp in the Maasai Mara North Conservancy. Our flight is direct so the flight time is just under an hour. We arrive at camp for a welcome talk, lunch and a short rest ahead of our first afternoon drive. We then return to camp under cover of darkness, after shooting until the setting sun has dipped below the horizon. Then a quick freshen up, drinks and dinner.

Day 3: This is our first full day in Mara North. Morning drives begin before sunrise, so that we can head out in the dark and find a subject to shoot when the sun rises. Once we’ve had the best of the morning light, we stop for a picnic style bush breakfast and refreshments, before looking out for photo opportunities as we slowly head back to camp. You then have time to rest, freshen up, eat lunch and grab a cool drink or two. Early afternoons we will look to alternate between several presentations and group image reviews. We then we head out for a late afternoon drive returning after sunset, for dinner and drinks.

Day 4-11: As day 3.

Day 12: We will have our final morning game drive before our chartered flight around lunchtime. Being a chartered flight just for us, this guarantees a direct flight with no stops, meaning we’ll arrive in plenty of time to freshen up at the hotel. From there it’s just a couple of minutes transfer to Nairobi’s international terminal for your flight home.
