BWPA 2013: Highly Commended

I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus from photography over the last few months, but although it’s been a quiet summer, I’m delighted to say one of my little owl images has received a Highly Commended award in the 2013 British Wildlife Photography Awards, in the Animal Portraits category.

The Three Stooges, highly commended in the 2013 British Wildlife Photography Awards

Highly Commended, 2013 BWPA

The Three Stooges is an image you may of seen previously of three owlets, but for my BWPA entry I chose not to have it on such a tight crop, instead having the owls a little smaller in the frame to give a better sense of the tree they were nesting in.

This is the second year running I’ve been lucky enough to receive a Highly Commended award in this category, and as with the 2012 competition, this years image will be featured in the exhibition and portfolio book.
