Richard, great video! You did a great job of photographing the owls and I certainly appreciate your willingness to take the protection of the owls over your quest to take their photos.
It's a shame you didn't have more luck in Cape Coral. We do have the largest population of the Florida species of the Burrowing Owl in the world.
If you are ever back in Cape Coral, please get in contact with <a href="http://ccfriendsofwildlife.org" target="blank! rel="nofollow">Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife and we will make every effort to assist you with your photography.

Thanks Roy, I'm back home too now but looking forward to my next trip away. I was maybe 20 feet or so from the owls, can't say for sure but there are a couple of shots in the video where you can see the distance I got from them. Advantages of the D3 is the image quality and focus are second to none, it's the first camera I reach for without fail. The D300 gives me the DX advantage for those times my subjects are further away.

Adam, cheers buddy...and I'll get some other info over to you right now! :)

Hi Richard

Many thanks for the blog. really enjoyed the owl shots. Wish I were with you in that Florida sunshine, away from this gastly weather, here in the UK.

Having the D3 and D300 along with the 200-400mm (with a range of teleconverters). What sort of distance were you from the owls. Dis you find and advantages, or indeed disadvantages, shooting with the D3 0r D300. Keep up the blog. It is great.

kind regards
