Thanks for both the article and the photos, fantastic job!
I did the KSC tour in december 08 and missed a launch by a few days but I would love to go back and see this for myself.

Do you have any idea how jealous I am mate? I tried to go and see a shuttle launch in Dec 07. But of course, the mission was scrubbed due to difficulties with the tanks. Damn.
Right, I MUST go and see this now, this year.

Very nice post, good narrative. I also had the pleasure of viewing a launch from Titusville, Space View Park. I only had a 70-300 with me though so I didn’t get as close a view as you did. I did wait for 5 hours in over 100 degree heat though!

Thanks Robert, I’m glad you enjoyed the article. I did the tour at KSC back in November and thought at the time how good it would be to see a launch…so really pleased to have managed to do it now! Well worth doing if you ever get the chance.

Hello Richard,

I read this with baited breath, excited like a ten year old boy. I have done the tour at Kennedy Space Centre but never witnessed a launch, that’s still on my to-do list.
