I’m sure many of you will have heard by now that there is an announcement due from Nikon on 1st December, and ‘those in the know’ think it’s going to be the D3x. I’ll be away in Florida at the time but looking forward to seeing what the 1st brings…
My wish list
Quite simple really, something with a 12mp crop mode and excellent high ISO (somewhere between the D3 and D300 would do, as a sacrifice to the higher MP). Also a live histogram in the viewfinder would be superb, although I really don’t expect that to happen…but what a fantastic feature that would be! 5 or 6fps, with 8 or 9 in HSC mode and built in wireless would finish my main wish list off.
In reality, the one thing that I’d like to see over everything else is the 12mp crop mode with decent high ISO. I’d absolutely love to see it NOT have a high def video capture mode because it’s not really something I’ll use and don’t really like the idea that photographers have to pay a higher cost for a body that has that built in when I’m sure most would choose not to have it if they could to keep costs down.
One thing is for sure though…Nikon seem to be on a roll of late so hopefully they will build on the success of the D3, D700 & D300 and give us something equally as impressive…!
Recent update…photo’s of the D3x that appeared briefly on the Nikon website can be seen here.
