My love of wildlife means I spend as much time as I can in the more rural parts of the country or, at any given chance, the more distant parts of the world in pursuit of my next photo. This passion, inspired in a big way from growing up watching the BBCs incredible wildlife documentaries, has taken me to some beautiful places and I'm delighted my efforts have seen me awarded in various competitions including the highly prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPOTY), the British Wildlife Photography Awards (BWPA) and the American Natures Best, as well as being published in various media both nationally and internationally.
As a social person who enjoys spending time with like minded people and talking shop, it's a pleasure to also be part of the guiding team for Northshots, the wildlife photo tour company run by veteran photographer Peter Cairns.
And when not behind the camera? I'm either behind the computer, writing for both mine and others blogs (including Nikon Europe and WEX Photographic's) or I'm working behind cameras of a different breed in the media industry. I've also enjoyed being on the judging panel for competitions run by both Nikon and the BBCs Countryfile, where I appeared on the tv show as a short list judge three years running after previously winning the competition.
Again, I'm always happy to talk shop so if you're a social media user then please feel free to drop me a line on my Facebook Page or say hello on Twitter @RichardpPhoto or even send me a good old fashioned email!
For any image use requirements, please do get in touch. Thank you for visiting, happy shooting and maybe I'll see you out in the field one day...
